Here are a few photos (from 2,500) I took from a week in Bridport, riding my bike, taking photos and doing a little bit of freelance work.

No words to describe...

Kathryn and I went to Brean at the weekend, making the most of our National Trust membership, the walk along the point was nice, but the village of Brean is a hell on earth, caravan parks for miles and amusement arcades, ergh!

We then had lunch in Clevdon which was nice, and got some more super-cheap kitchen stuff from the kitchen shop there.

In the evening we had a pub crawl but with food, yum:

And Sunday morning went to the slow-food market:

Habour Festival....mostly

So...it was the Habour Festival, and Kathryn, Lu'ay and I went to see Toots and the Maytals on Friday evening, which was good seeing as I missed them last time they were playing 'cause the tickets cost so much!

On Saturday my parents came to visit and we took on the crowds, and wandered about:

Then this...:

...inspired this:

Sweet!

Kathryn, Lu'ay and I then went to see Jane Taylor on Sunday evening, she had done a gig the day before and only had 1 hours sleep, here Cellist, Beth, had done 2 gigs and also had almost no sleep but they all gave a flawless performance, most excellent.

Check out here myspace for a preview, I suggest "Fall On Me".

A few night-time walk photos:

And a few Dean Lane/George photos:

Then I noticed a crack in George's bars, I told him they wouldn't last long, and sure enough:

Photo Sessions

I've taken quite a few photos recently, so here is a second post in as many days.

This is my new flash, a , Vivitar 285HV, cute little guy:

This is a shot I took at George's BBQ:

And these are from a evening ride at Dean Lane:

What a good angle on a turndown!:

I love this one, it looks like it film that's been cross processed, look at the sky:

Here's a little shot from a little studio messing about, inspired by this DigBMX cover:

And a little messing about on a shot I imagined a while ago:

Less than weekly

I'm not doing too well at the moment, these posts are less often than weekly. Anyway...here are some photos from Kathryn's Graduation, and a trip to Wales, amongst other things.

A week or two

On Sunday I tried to have a flatland ride after a week of rain, but alas, it rained again:

On Thursday I went to Motion, the Relentless Team were on a road trip and I got some shots of the high jump comp:

On Friday evening Kathryn and I had a walk along the waterfront and went for a drink on the river:

On Saturday George and I went for a ride and got some filming done:

Kathryn and I went to B&Q and spent the afternoon in the garden and doing DIY:

On Monday night George and I went to Dean Lane and got some photos:

Riding, Birthdays and Moving House

I have, as usual, had quite a busy few weeks. Still got some time and internet again so here's some pictures. We have some shots I have had in mind for a while, reflection of flatland in water at @Bristol.

Then we have some pics from a weekend in Bridport when I went back for Bram's birthday.

I have just moved into a cottage near Park Street, its very special and finally getting sorted, amazing that we went from one room to two and still don't seem to have enough room.

Foam Pile Jam in Bridport

I had an absolutely excellent weekend in Bridport. I went down on Friday with Lucian and we rode The Unit Friday night, then the outdoor on Saturday. After that there was a Foam Pile Jam at The Unit which was awesome and unsurprisingly I took hundreds of photos:

Almost a month?!!

So, it appears I've gone almost a month without making a post, I have been super-busy with going away on the weekends, looking for a house, working etc. but rest assured, I have taken many a photo. Here are some to make up for the vacuum.

22 Apr 2007

Flatland, mostly...

I've had a wonderful last week, most because I love the sunshine so much.

This is on the way to work on the train, need to retake this on foot before they harvest:

Had a photo session in Motion with Sam:

On Thursday it was so nice and sunny I decided to take the day off work, and took some great photos in the sun. At Lloyds I met some skateboarders and got some shots of them:

Before going up to the University and having lunch with Ben in Brandon Hill park:

After lunch I went and rode some flatland with Lu'ay and Satoshi:

On Saturday Matti and Jon came from Wales with another flatland rider and we had a mini-jam what with Lu'ay, Jamie, Satoshi and myself also riding:

2 weeks worth!

So, I've been so busy doing things and taking photos that I haven't had the time to post any, so here are two weeks worth. This is what I have been up to:

I had a great weekend in Bridport on the weekend of the Old Fools Jam, rode my bike loads, used my new 10-20mm sigma wide angle lens to get some great shots:

And even got Stuart to take this awesome shot of me doing a 180 barspin out of the newly resurfaced bowl:

Kathryn and I then had a week relaxing in sunny Cornwall, which was fantastic:

(I'm particularly proud of these abstract/macro daisy studies)

We had a BBQ, I was in charge:

Then played Twister:

Went to St.Michael's Mount in Penzance:

Saw the Duck:

Kathryn got me a Spongebob Squarepants:

Then back to Bristol, where I was ill for one day, then went to work for one day, took some night-time shots:

Rode Hengrove:

Rode Flat:

Then relaxed, ready for another busy week, maybe I'll go to work this week though...

The first pictures

04 Mar 2007

A rainy day about the house

Somewhat annoyingly, what with getting my DREAM camera yesterday, today was super-rainy. But as a photographer once said "There is never bad weather for photography, just new opportunities.". And so I spent the day taking utterly random photos around the house, which was actually enormous fun!

The dried rose photos were all taken by the window to give soft, directional light. I don't know why but I really like the shot of my jeans.

04 Mar 2007

And later that day...

...we had an eclipse, I got some rather pathetic shots:

And here cropped to blow it up a bit:

And my friend Sam Marsh got a super shot:

Guess the teacher got a lesson, in how to teach, or something...

New Camera!!!

Oh my god, right! So after wanting a D200 for ages, and needing one for probably 6 months, I have finally gone and bought one. Naughty me. Its lucky actually as my old digital camera was on its last legs, the flash didn't work, the view finder didn't work and some of the buttons and dials had become temperamental. And when I turned it on to take this photo of my new camera ANOTHER button stopped working! Appropriate that the last photo I will take with it is of my new camera which will replace it. Goodbye Minolta Konica A2, you served well.

So here are some shots of my first day with the D200, woo-hoo!:
