Landscapes are great subjects to photograph, they don't move much...

...and when they do, they do so only very slowly. You can take your time preparing the shot, and come back many times to obtain the most interesting and striking lighting.

Landscapes are grand, impressive examples of the scale and beauty of the world we live on. People are almost insignificant compared to the scale of time and space involved. To capture a sequence of landscapes on the move would literally take lifetimes. Yet some landscapes change faster, water and weather forever changing the face of the planet. The surface changes of colour and vegatation may be seasonal but the underlying earth and rock will be here long after we are gone.
