Skate-night Monday 15th Jan 2007

The skate night was a great success with around fifteen skaters turning up and 2 photographers (Ed and Louie).

Elliot was busting out loads of lush flips in the big game of S-K-A-T-E we had and Sam Boswell learnt backside heelflips also a lot of people learning the rail for the first time it was good fun! Gary Roper had his first skate for a long while because he has been nursing a rolled ankle (ouch!), anyway, he was back on form doing 270 to 5-0’s and other crazy stuff….anyhow we got some good footage thanks to Sam Boswell and some great photos from Louie and Ed in conclusion the skate night was great !...SR

Stuart's Road Trip

Me and some of my friends went on a trip up north on a little skate park tour. We left on the evening of the 29th of December 2006 and returned home on the 4th of January 2007. We set off for a short trip down the road from Southampton to Leeds!

First stop on the trip was the Worx in Leeds. Which is well worth a trip and there was plenty for everyone there, a huge bowl, the biggest street section you have ever seen, rhythm section with box and spine section. A short trip to Burnley was next on the agenda. Interact is without a doubt one of the best parks in the country. The bowl is absolutely amazing and the rest of the park works well.

The break for New Year was then on the cards we braced the weather in Blackpool and nearly got arrested for taking the picture, the police had a wagon flying down the high-street after us, after reports we had been jumping on cars (which was not true!)! Blackpool sucked as nothing was open due to adverse weather condition which had sand whistling around the streets and the sea trying to reclaim land from all angles. So we headed to Chorley and spent the night in a travel lodge. Just wait for the XBMX DVD to be released it was one of the most entertaining nights of our lives.

New Years day was a day of recovery and fast food, with a KFC breakfast, a trip to the cinema in Bolton to watch Casino Royal with hot dogs and the night finished up with an all you can eat Chinese we were ready for the home stretch of our trip.

Off we headed to Manchester and after a Pizza Hut all you can eat then we hit the newly opened Park Central. This place was a worthwhile stop on the trip this park was amazing but not a lot of people on the road trip but I loved it !!!!! We headed down to Stockport for an evening session at the legendary Bones Skate Park. OMG, this place is worth a visit any day of the week. Absolutely amazing box, half vert, spine section with wall ride, bowl mini etc etc. This was probably the best session on the trip. As a result we then spent the next 5 hours in hospital as Adam (Dearsy) bent his big toe nail back (which I clipped with a set of hammer head snips) and (Tripper) Leigh Eveleigh wasted hard on a 360 whip and tweaked his back pretty good. After some rotten chicken soup and watching a suicide attempt (crazy woman!) we headed off to Liverpool.

Rampworx was a subdued affair the only park that most of us had ridden before and with countless nights of sleep deprivation and battered bodies. The day basically went ride a bit, eat a bit, destroy transportation a bit and ride a little more. All in all the trip was ace, lots of footage for the DVD !
